Guidelines for conducting Soil Surveys in South Africa 2022-03-18 13:24:49

A proper soil survey is a very useful set of information for the land user. The purpose of this book is to provide guidelines to the soil surveyor in order to conduct a proper soil survey. First step is to establish the purpose of the survey in co-operation with the client, followed by proper planning of the project. Performing a proper survey entails field observations and logging data, usually by GPS location. The filed data is then used to create a soil map, indicating the soil variation of the subject area.

The publications was commissioned by the Soil Classification Working Group and under the auspice of the Soil Science Society of South Africa. For orders contact admin@soils.co.za
